Teppei Syokudo Plaza Singapura and Man Man Unagi have a pop-up collaboration for the month of July and August 2017. For those who know about Man Man Unagi, you will definitely know about the crazy queue. Fret not; you can now enjoy it at Teppei Syokudo without queuing.
All the live unagi (eel) is charcoal-grilled by hand at Man Man Unagi Restaurant before sending it over to the outlet in Plaza Singapura. The Unagi is from Aichi Prefecture, Mikawa and airflown live 4 times a week from Japan to Singapore. Customers can now enjoy DIY Kaisendon with unagi together.
There are 3 types of unagi dishes here in Teppei Syokudo:
Unagi Tamago Don S$17.80
Chopped Unagi Kaisen Don S$19.80
Unagi Bento S$24.80
Out of these 3, my less favourite is the Chopped Unagi Kaisen Don. The unagi is being cut to small bites which I can’t really taste the distinctive charcoll-grilled flavour. So, if you are a fan of Unagi or wish to try Man Man unagi, I would suggest having the Unagi Tamago Don or Unagi Bento. The unagi is cut into bigger slices and the robust flavour of the eel is complemented by the sweet and plain rice. It would be best if they have additional sauce to add on.
